Accessibility

How we approach accessibility on this site, the standard we target, and how to tell us if something gets in your way.
Our commitment
Mative is committed to making this site usable for as many people as possible. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and we treat accessibility as part of design and engineering, not an audit at the end.
What we've built for
- Keyboard navigation across all interactive elements, with a visible focus state.
- A skip-to-content link for screen reader and keyboard users.
- Semantic HTML structure with one H1 per page and meaningful headings throughout.
- Alt text on meaningful images; decorative images marked accordingly.
- Colour contrast ratios at AA or better against the dark background.
- Respect for the prefers-reduced-motion setting, animations are reduced or removed.
- Form fields with visible labels and clear error messaging.
- Fluid typography that scales with browser zoom up to 200%.
Known limitations
We’re aware of a few areas still being improved:
- Some atmospheric WebGL elements on the homepage degrade gracefully but may not be perceivable to all users.
- Older case-study imagery may have shorter alt descriptions than newer work.
These are tracked and fixed iteratively.
